FAQs

Complicated courtroom technology is seamless when Naegeli is there.

What is video synchronization?
Video synchronization is a procedure that adds time codes to a transcript that are congruent with the video. With a synchronized transcript you can navigate through the video via word searches or by simply typing in the page and line number you want. In the courtroom you are able to play back video testimony with the transcript simultaneously scrolling along.

What happens if there is a complication during a digital presentation?
We understand the numerous obstacles that may occur while presenting evidence digitally. That’s why we have reliable and redundant backup systems and equipment prepared for each presentation.

While some of the newer courtrooms may already have some presentation equipment, how do I present digital evidence in an older courtroom?
We have a wide selection of rental equipment along with experienced consultants that can determine the best options for presenting your evidence digitally. Click here for a list of available rental equipment.

What determines the technology tools that will be utilized during my presentation?
Through an initial consultation there will be a collaborative effort to assess the technological tools and services that best suit your case. Your success comes from our ability to be flexible in determining the best medium for your presentation.

How far in advance do I need to call for presentations services?
We are available to assist you by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To ensure the availability of our complete line of services and equipment, we recommend giving as much notice as possible. We also understand that many things happen at the last moment, and that is why we will always be there to offer you assistance with your litigation support needs.

When referring to scanned documents, what is the difference between OCR and coding?
Scanned documents are basically digital pictures. These pictures can have additional digital information associated with them called "metadata". Metadata can be created through either an OCR or Coding process. OCR stands for "Optical Character Recognition" and is an automated process that attempts to recognize letters and words from a scanned page. Coding is the process of manually entering information about the scanned image into the metadata. When used in conjunction with litigation support software programs, metadata can be a powerful research and presentation tool. Depending upon the volume of documents and the complexity of your case, we will help you to asses if one or both processes will help you prepare and present your case.
